Measurements
3 teaspoons = 1 tablespoon
16 tablespoons = 1 cup
1/4 cup = 4 tablespoons
1/3 cup = 5 1/2 tablespoons
2 cup = 1 pint
4 cup =1 quart
2 pint = 1 quart
1 pound brown sugar = 3 1/2 cup
1 pound granulated sugar = 2 1/4 cup
1 pound butter = 2 cups
1 stick butter =1/2 cup
1 pound shortning =2 cups
1 pound powdered sugar = 3 3/4 cup
1 pound cheese = 4 1/2 cup grated
1 pound flour = 3 3/4 cup
1 square chocolate = 2 tablespoons cocoa
1 pound rasins = 3 cups

Perfect Ice tea: for a 2 qt tea pitcher. place 2 tea bags in a 2 cup pyrex measuring cup fill with water to 1 3/4, place in micro wave for 3 1/2 min. add to pitcher of water , sweeten as desired. TOP OF THE LINE ICE TEA.

Testing eggs
Place eggs in a bowl of water if they sink, they are good.

When baking, always bring eggs to room temperature first. Cold eggs may cause the batter to curdle, which could affect the cake's texture. To quickly bring eggs to room temperature, let them soak in a bowl of warm water for about a half hour.

Perfect boiled eggs:

Cover eggs with cool water, sprinkle with salt, cover let come to boil for 1 1/2
- 2 minutes, take off fire and let cool. Eggs will be done, easy to peel and
wont have the green coloring on the yolk.

When scrambling eggs, add a little cool water to the beaten eggs and beat more this will make them very fluffy when cooked. also add a tablspoon of butter to the eggs when cooking , make the flavor great.




Ever buy green bananas and need them soon?? place in a brown bag with an apple
over night. next morning bananas will be perfectly ripe.

When baking a cake instead of dusting the pan with flour us a little of the dry cake mixture. there will not be any flour residue on the cake when done, as with flour.

Stuck Food in a pan??? Rinse with cool water, sprinkle heavy with salt and
baken soda, add about 1 inch water bring to boil a few minutes. Set off fire ,
cover and let set until cool. Badly stuck food may take longer or several times
to loosen.

Grilling steaks in an iron skillet or pancake grill, sprinkle the skillet with a
little salt, steaks will not stick.

Warming up rolls, hot dog buns , hamburger buns or any other breads in the
microwave:::::

place 1/2 cup water in with the breads. Results perfect fresh bread.
