Ice Box Rolls
Grannie Helen's
1 egg 1 pkg yeast 2 cups warm water
1 tes salt 1/2 cup oil 1/2 cup sugar
6-7 cups plain flour

mix all ing. adding flour gradually to make stiff dough. let rise covered with
clean cloth,in warm place about 1 1/2 hr. work dough down put in ref. use as
needed. Roll small amount dough into a ball place in greased muffin pan let rise
to double or more. bake 400F* until golden brown. about 10-15 min brush with
butter.

Corn bread
Grandma Glaze:

1 cup yellow corn meal 1/2 cup plain flour
1/2 tesp Bakenpowder 1/4 tesp soda
dash salt 1 egg
1 cup buttermilk

mix well pour into hot greased iron skillet bake 425* until golden brown.

buttermilk biscuits: My Mom's

2 cups self rising flour
1 tabsp sugar
add buttermilk stiring until makes a thick but sorta stiff dough. either roll
out in floured hand or roll on floured foil or wax paper and cut biscuits. place
on greased baking pan , grease tops bake 425* until golden brown.




STUDMUFFINS: Submitted by Dale
1 1/2 cups flour, all purpose
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 egg
3/4 cups sugar, granulated
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 1/2 cups bananas, mashed: 3 or 4

Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a mixing bowl.
Thoroughly beat together egg, sugar, butter and mashed bananas. Add
to
dry ingredients. Stir just until moistened. Fill greased muffin
cups
three quarters full. Bake in preheated 375F oven 20 to 25 minutes or
until top springs back when lighly touched. Makes 12 muffins.






Native American Fry Bread: submitted by Heather (autumn/winter/violets)

2 pkgs. quick rise yeast
4 C. very warm water
7 1/2 C. Flour
1/2 C. sugar
1 Tbsp. salt
1/2 C. dry milk
1/2 cup milk
1 egg

Add yeast to very warm water. Combine dry ingredients. Add yeast and water.
Stir in Milk and eggs in large bowl. Cover and let rise till double in size.
Knead on floured surface adding more flour as necessary. Return to bowl and
cover, let rise till doubled in size.
To make fry bread: Take a handful of dough and form into a flat circle. Poke
about 4 or 5 holes in dough and fry in very hot shortening till golden brown.
To make pan bread: form dough into a large pan size circle. Do not poke holes
in dough. Add a small amount of shortening to hot frying pan to grease, and fry
dough until raised and golden brown on both sides.
Use fry bread to make Indian Tacos. Add beans, hamburger, lettuce, tomatoes,
and your other favorite toppings yum!!!
